The Seventh Master – 23

“Hmm,” Val turned away. “Sorry, but we need to go anyway. Rutar was there, Kasheyra, and he won’t be slow to follow us.”
He struck off towards the foothills of the mountains at a grueling pace, and Jerun and Kasheyra did their best to follow.
“Doesn’t he ever get tired?” She complained.
“I don’t think so,” Jerun said puzzled. “I’ve actually never seen him tired, now that I think about it.”
Kasheyra stared at the knight. “Really?”
He nodded. “Never,”
She looked at Val’s back, which was steadily getting smaller, up ahead of them.
“Is he even human?” She muttered.
Jerun laughed.
“As much as you are,” he said.
“What do you mean?” Kasheyra demanded.
“It’s not my place to say,” Jerun said softly. “It’s his,” he jerked his head at Val.
