The Seventh Master – 29

Val didn’t push them as hard as he had before, but they still made good progress through the mountains.
Jerun noticed as they traveled that Val seemed to stand straighter, and move with more grace, his steps a fluid motion, only stopping when Kasheyra or he stumbled or were tired.
As they ate some berries that Val had found the day before in a small bunch of bushed high on one of the mountains, Jerun just looked at the lad.
:Am I that interesting?: Val’s voice inquired in his mind.
:I’m blocking, how did you do that?: Jerun demanded.
He heard Val’s silent chuckle.
:I’m the Seventh, Jerun. Not even a fully realized Dreamdancer could block me.:
