When it all caves in…

Have you ever felt like everything was just falling apart around you?

I know I have. Your world is caving in, and you don’t know what to do, and you want to just give in to despair and apathy.

There are many ways it can happen. Life in general might not be going well for you, or it’s relationships (or the lack thereof) with friends and family, and it’s just crumbling. Or your school. I have personally felt like my world was caving in through all of those at times.

There is a verse, though, that always cheers me up during those times.

“My Father, which gave [them] me, is greater than all; and no [man] is able to pluck [them] out of my Father’s hand.” John 10:29 (KJV)

Such an encouraging verse.

It doesn’t matter what the world throws at us, we’re gonna be fine; there is nothing that man can do, and that includes ourselves, that can pluck us out of the Father’s hand, and in the Father’s hand there is nothing to worry about.

There are times of great tragedy when men begin to blame God for what is happening. Why would God allow such things to happen? We don’t know the answer. But God, even then, has never let us go; we are still, and forever will be, in the Father’s hands.

I wrote a song last week entitled “In His Arms”. I would like to share the chorus with you —

In His arms you will be at peace;
In His arms you will be complete.
In His arms He will guide you home, and
In His arms you can never feel alone.
Oh, in His arms you will know what true love is.

In the arms of God we will be at peace, and be complete. In the Father’s hands.

When it’s all caving in, we have a place to turn, and see that, in truth, the foundation is unshaken and will remain firm.

The term “caving in” is one that I like. The feeling I get from it is, I believe important. When you cave in, it means giving in to the pressure from the outside, giving in and letting it crush you. We can never cave in to the world. If you cave in, it’s a long hard trip back. You’ll never be outside of God’s love, but it’s a place you don’t want to go.

If you feel weak, if you feel like caving in, turn to God. Read the Bible.

So many people say they are too busy and don’t have time to read the Bible. I would argue that I am too busy NOT to read the Bible.

I get so much encouragement from the Word of God, and so will you. “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.” What more could you ask for? With faith comes so much; to be able to fully trust and believe in God for all your needs. In the place, you will never again feel like the world is falling apart around you, and you helpless against it all.

God bless,
~Daniel
